• Tournament Result – Monday 29th February – Y3/4 Sportshall Athletics Semi Finals

  On Monday, our Y3/4 Sportshall Athletics team took part in the semi-finals of the indoor competition, held at Southglade Leisure Centre.

   

  The team really enjoyed their afternoon, running in 6 different races – including both individual and relay. We also took part in field events, such as the balance test and speed bounce – one of the most difficult tests for our young athletes.

   

  We finished in 5th position out of the 7 schools who took part. Unfortunately, this meant we won't be attending the finals!

   

  Well done to all those who represented Whitemoor: Christine S, J'Adore P, Nayara R, Inez W, Shruti A, Jessica S, Kamara J, Sahnairi P, Travae R, Tyler C, Carnell T, Ramadan R, Shalom-Chris O, Mason T, Brian D, Natijah L and Jayden R.

• Tournament Result – Wednesday 24th February – Y5/6 Table Tennis

  Our Table Tennis team ventured to the Brendan Lawrence Sports Centre earlier today, ready to take part in the annual Y5/6 tournament.

   

  Due to the quality of Table Tennis displayed at our after school club, we were able to take A and B teams to this year's event – providing even more children with the opportunity to represent Whitemoor. 

   

  Although both our A and B teams missed out on medals (by coming in 4th place and 5th place respectively), all involved loved the day and enjoyed showing off the skills they had learnt. They also represented the school magnificently, with great sportsmanship and manners.

   

  Our Y5/6 Table Tennis consisted of: Mikyle T, Mason W, Shoaib K, Jawaad S, Megan M, Noor T, Savita A and Amirah A.

• Tournament Result – Thursday 11th February – Y5/6 Dodgeball Finals

  Thu 11 Feb 2016

  After a sterling performance in the City Dodgeball heats, we faced even tougher competition in the 'grand finals' of this tournament (which took place on Thursday afternoon). 

   

  Thankfully, our players found their rhythm quickly, reacting superbly to the increased skill levels which the the other teams exhibited.

   

  We battled all the way to the final, with Whitemoor once again showing resilience and determination in everything they did. It then came down to the last 20 seconds (of the third and final round) against last year's winners – Djanogly Strelley... With amazing unison we were able to get some important hits on the opposing team, meaning we won the final game and thus the gold medal. 

   

  What another amazing performance from our fantastic sports men and women!

   

  Today's, gold medal winning, Dodgeball team were: Oskar D, Lynden J, Ajay S, Daniel P, Thomas W, Declan M, Savita A and Grace A.

• Competition Result – Wednesday 3rd February – Y5/6 Gymnastics

  On Wednesday evening, a number of our Y5/6 Gymnasts took part in the Upper Key Stage Two competition, which was organised by School Sport Nottingham and students from Ellis Guilford.

   

  Our team had been training extremely hard, in order to remember what were some tricky routines. After overcoming early nerves, each and every one of our Gymnastics team showed great skill and performed with real confidence.

   

  Whitemoor's boys and girls really enjoyed their evening at Ellis, including getting to watch Gymnasts from the other seven schools in action. Unfortunately, our team were not one of those who scored enough points to finish in a medal position.

   

  It's worth noting, however, that Beth managed to score a PERFECT 10 on the vault - a very rare thing indeed!

   

  Well done to all the Y5/6 children involved, who were: Teegan A, Peyten C, Megan M, Tino C, Natasha C and Beth K.

   

• Tournament Result – Tuesday 2nd February – Y3/4 Sportshall Athletics Heats

  On Tuesday morning, our Y3/4 Athletics team took part in the Sportshall heats. The competition was organised by School Sports Nottingham and was officiated by a team of young sports leaders from Ellis Guilford. 

   

  The team really enjoyed their time at Ellis, running 6 different races – including both individual and relay. We also took part in field events, such as the standing long jump and a foam javelin throw – the favourite for most of our young athletes.

   

  We finished in 2nd position out of the 8 schools who took part and, as a result of this, will be attending the semi-finals next month!
