  • Competition Result – Thursday 6th October – Y5/6 Cross Country Relay

    Thu 06 Oct 2016

Yesterday afternoon, we traveled over to Colwick Country Park to compete in the annual Cross Country Relay.

The cross country event is one of the most physically demanding competitions on the sporting calendar, with each runner having to complete a 1,300m circuit of the lake at Colwick. Added to this, there were over 50 boys and girls teams taking part on the day, which meant our children were up against 200 plus other athletes!

It must be said that the Whitemoor team showed incredible resilience and determination while running against such tough competition. An incredible achievement for all who took part, with some amazing lap times. A big well done!

Our Y5/6 Cross Country team consisted of: Castel B, Harvinder D, Brian D, Mason N, Kamara J, Megan M, Natasha C and Millie G.

  • Tournament Result – Monday 3rd October – Y5/6 Sportshall Athletics Heats

    Mon 03 Oct 2016

Yesterday morning saw the first Athletics event of the 2016-17 academic year take place, with our Y5/6 pupils competing in the local heats at Ellis Guilford.

As is usual for these events, a sizeable number of children were given the opportunity to represent their school – with teams consisting of eleven boys and eleven girls.

The Sportshall Athletics tournaments are a real showcase of a multitude of skills, with this year's heats being of a particularly high standard. Although Whitemoor did incredibly well and won a number of races, we didn't manage to finish in a qualifying position for the semi-finals.

However, the perseverance of the team was commendable and all were happy to have taken part. Also, for our Year 5 pupils, June's Quad Athletics event will offer chance to better their efforts from today.

    Our Y5/6 Sportshall Athletics team were: Jordan C, Natasha C, Tino C, Amarion A, Ciara S, Roche M, Millie E, Olivia G, Mille G, Amirah A, Jessica S, Sharnaiya M, Jayden R, Castel B, Brian D, Romario L, Mason T, Mason N, Kamara J, Megan N, Carnell T and Neyara R.
