  • Tournament Result - Y5/6 Sportshall Athletics Finals

    Thu 12 Dec 2019

Earlier this afternoon, we returned to Harvey Hadden for the third and final round of the Y5/6 Sportshall Athletics Championships.

To reach this stage of the competition was a brilliant achievement for Whitemoor - especially given the fact this was the third year in a row we'd done so at either Y3/4 or Y5/6 level. However, to go one better than previous years, achieving a medal placing was today's target...

Right from the off, every single one of our pupils showed fantastic determination, putting maximum effort into every single event they competed in. There were some great scores recorded in both the track and the field events, thus hopes of reaching the target we'd set were understandably high.

Unfortunately, Team Whitemoor just missed out on a medal, finishing fourth overall. Achieving such a high placing is something our pupils should be very proud of though. After all, they bettered so many schools in Nottingham to do so. Well done guys!

    Our Y5/6 Sportshall Athletics team for the final was: Lucas S, Jordan N, Harley J, Zak P, Ryan B, Martell E, Riley D, Jahmar C, Tyrai E, Kiyan A, Sam W, Ticianny M, Minky D, Alawrae K, Makeda M, Sienna H, Alyssia N, Kuleni S, Glennisha B, Doha A and Katie A.

  • Tournament Result - Y3/4 Handball Festival

    Tue 10 Dec 2019

This afternoon, a group of lucky pupils got to take part in the Y3/4 Handball event, held over at Harvey Hadden Sports Village.

Like with the Dodgeball and Tag Rugby events held earlier this year, a festival format was adopted and so scores were not recorded/no medals were on offer.

Regardless of this fact, Team Whitemoor gave their all throughout the festival. They displayed great skill and teamwork during the many games of handball they played against many different schools from across Nottingham. A huge well done to all those involved!

Our Y3/4 Handball team was made up of: Chiamaka O, Karampreet R, Abi-Lei B,

    Abigirl A, Sophia B, Amelia B, Elijah B, Ozair A, Malachi E, Naquarn S, Werner E, Archit N and Nerome T.

  • Competition Result - Y5/6 Key Step Gymnastics

    Wed 04 Dec 2019

This afternoon, we were lucky enough to be able to take all the gymnasts who've been attending after school club (since September!) to the Y5/6 Key Step competition.

Inspire Gymnastics Academy, which is based in Cinderhill, was chosen as the host venue for today's event. Given that the Upper Key Stage Two version of the Key Step competitions last occurred three years ago, all the schools present had high hopes that their team(s) would gain a medal...

It was clear right from the start that Whitemoor's gymnasts had been training incredibly hard, with both our A and B teams performing their tricky routines with the upmost skill and poise.

When the points from the five highest scoring pupils in each team were added together, we discovered our B team had finished fourth and our A team had finished first. What an amazing achievement from all involved!

Today's superstar gymnastics teams were made up of: Benan E, Ticianny M, Destiny R, Sienna H, Alyssia N, Minky D, Jenan E, Kuleni S, Katie A, Shay A, Mia M and Zenai C.

    4. Whitemoor Academy 0 – 0 Haydn Primary

    5. Whitemoor Academy 0 – 0 Southwark Primary

These set of results meant we finished the tournament with a total of 9 points - going undefeated along the way! Unfortunately, this wasn't enough for us to finish in first or second place, with Haydn recording 10 points and Southwark recording 11 points.

Team Whitemoor should be extremely proud of their efforts however. After all, a win in our final game would have meant we won the whole tournament!
