  • Y6 Boys Active Festival

    Thu 19 Oct 2023

Earlier today, some our oldest male competitors travelled over to the sports centre at Harvey Hadden, ready to take part in the Year 6 Boys Active Festival.

The emphasis of the 'Boys Active' festivals is on participation and enjoyment; with a mass warm-up being followed by a rotation around different games and sports.

A huge well done to all the children involved with today's event. They displayed lots of enthusiasm and effort, as well as well representing Whitemoor superbly.

Our Y6 Boys Active team was made up of: Alan P, Salad-Ad-Din J, Kirtan G, Oscar C, Sahil A and Madan K.

  • Y6 Dodgeball Festival

    Tue 10 Oct 2023

Earlier today, fourteen of our eldest children got to take part in the Y6 Dodgeball Festival, held at Harvey Hadden Sports Village.

Dodgeball is one of our pupils favourite games, so those involved in today's event were super excited to get to play this sport against schools from across Nottingham.

With a festival format being adopted, whereby no scores were recorded, the emphasis was very much on our pupils competing for enjoyment, rather than medal success.

Saying all this, our team managed to achieve lots and lots of wins thanks to the superb effort they put in, both offensively and defensively. Fantastic work one and all.

    Our Y5/6 Handball team consisted of: Aditiya N, Kye C, Alfie B, Amina A, Halima F, Andrea M, Jwana M, Haris R, Aron N, Miles O, Ayub M, Aliya A, Maliyah D and Ria F.

Despite the fact that we didn't loose a game over the course of the afternoon, seven points weren't enough for us to top our group. This meant we went another year without qualifying for the semi-final stage. However, our players should take pride from beating the strongest team in our group, South Wilford, who finished the tournament as runners up.

Our attentions now turn to the upcoming Central Venue League matches, where we hope we'll experience lots more wins.

  • Y5/6 NLS Handball Tournament

    Tue 03 Oct 2023

This evening, Whitemoor competed in the first Next Level Sports competition of the new academic year: Y5/6 Handball.

Over the course of the tournament we faced five different schools, with our girls team playing the first half and our boys team playing the second half. The results were as follows:

    Robert Mellors 2 - 5 Whitemoor

    Ernhale 2 - 10 Whitemoor

    Whitemoor 8 - 8 Mapperley Plains

    Arnold View 5 - 9 Whitemoor

    Whitemoor 6 - 2 Burnstump Seeley

Our four wins and one draw were a very pleasing set of results indeed... In fact they were so good that we won the whole tournament! What a great effort from all our players - bringing home the trophy for Whitemoor and representing the school magnificently throughout.

    Our Y5/6 Handball team was made up of: Brax B; Mason B, Jayden B, Maleik P, Abu H, Mya C, Hollie-Rose H, Ellicia B, Davinia O and Andrea M.
