  • Football Result – Tuesday 25th July – Boys Under 11 Vs Under 10 Game

    Tue 25 Jul 2017

For the last three years, we've organised an end of season match between our boys' football teams – and this year was no different, with the Under 10s squaring off against their older counter parts.

The Under 11s squad was made up of: Josh I, Daniel P, Harvinder D, Castel B, Romario L and Mason N, with Millie E and Thomas W on the bench; whilst the younger squad consisted of: Kavan S, Aiden L, Maleeq F, Mason T, Ramadan R and Brian D (with Travae R and Elhadi M as subs).

Once again the boys (and girl) served up a feast of football. After a close first half, the final score was as follows:

    Whitemoor Academy Under 11s 4 – 1 Whitemoor Academy Under 10s

    Mason N                                              Brian D

    Castel B

Men of the Match: Castel B (Under 11s) & Ramadan R (Under 10s)

Well done to our Under 11 team for holding on to the intra-school trophy (in their last every football match for Whitemoor Academy).

  • Football Result – Monday 24th July – Boys Under 10 Vs Under 9 Game

    Mon 24 Jul 2017

Today saw the first ever intra-school football match between Under 10s (Year 5) and Under 9s (Year 4) occur. Having been asking for this match to take place for the majority of the year, the players were understandably excited when they took to the pitch.

The Year 4 team consisted of: Hugo K, Travae R, Shalom Chris-O, Abdul R and Mustafa K; whilst the Year 3 team was made up of: Lewis C, Harley J, Samuel W, Keenan D and Tyrai W.

The boys played out an incredible game of football, with the final score as follows:

    Whitemoor Academy Under 10s 2 – 2 Whitemoor Academy Under 9s

    Travae R                                             Samuel W

    Abdul R                                               Samuel W

Man of the Match: Samuel W

Well done to both teams for playing with such passion and determination!

  • Tournament Result – Thursday 20th July – Y6 Table Tennis

    Thu 20 Jul 2017

Thanks to Whitemoor being a member of SHINE Multi Academy Trust, there are now even more opportunities for our children to take part in inter-school events...

Following on from last week's football double-header, today it was the turn of Whitemoor's bronze medal winning Table Tennis team to face Scotholme's team.

Since the City tournament took place (a few months back), it was clear that Scotholme's players had been getting in lots of practise (whereas Whitemoor's players had not!). After a series of boys and girls round robin matches, the final results were totaled and…

Scotholme came away with an impressive points win. Regardless of the result, our team clearly enjoyed getting one last chance to play competitive Table Tennis before they leave us for secondary school.

Tonight's Table Tennis team was made up of: Mason W, Josh I, Elijah H, Troy B, Lauren F, Amirah M and Urooj F.

  • Tournament Result – Monday 10th July – KS2 Inclusive Sportshall Athletics

    Mon 10 Jul 2017

This year has seen a huge increase in the amount of 'inclusive' sports tournaments. These tournaments are all designed around getting a wider range, and higher number, of pupils taking part in inter-school events

The last of these events was Inclusive Sportshall Athletics, held up at Ellis Guilford yesterday. Over the course of the afternoon, some of our best Year 5 children got to take part in various track and field activities.

All the children received a score from each of the different events, which were then added together to form a team score. The Whitemoor team impressed from the off and, by the end of the day, had recorded a points total which was hundreds ahead of any of the other schools present.

Obviously, this resulted in yet another gold medal for Whitemoor! Well done to all the children involved.

The Y5/6 Inclusive Sportshall Athletics team consisted of: Taylor T, Rhys M, Cole S, Elijah K, Deimante R, Puja K, Katlyn G and Laetitia L.

  • Tournament Result – Friday 7th July – Y3/4 Handball COUNTY FINALS

    Fri 07 Jul 2017

As a result of winning the City tournament back in December, our Y3/4 Handball team were invited to the County Finals, held at Nottingham Trent University.

All the best teams in the county (both at primary and secondary level) were in attendance, in what was brilliant day of sporting celebration.

Whitemoor started this county tournament strongly, going on to win every game until the semi-finals. This game ended in a draw so went straight to penalties. Unfortunately, we lost by one goal, so failed to qualify for the grand final.

However, we still had opportunity to win a medal in the 3rd and 4th play-off. Whitemoor showed true grit and determination and managed to record a win, therefore gaining the bronze medal.

This was a truly incredible achievement, with it being the third time one of our handball teams has achieved a medal at county level. Well done to all those who took part today, as well as those who took part in previous events.

    Our Y3/4 Handball County Finalists were: Inez W, Mariah-Lace A, Christine S, Shalom-Chris O, Hugo K, Travae R, Natijah L, Jaylah C, Kyan N and Italee P.

  • Tournament Result – Thursday 6th July – Y3/4 Urban Hockey

    Thu 06 Jul 2017

Last Thursday, we traveled over to the Lee Westwood Sports Centre to compete in the penultimate School Sport Nottingham tournament of the year: Y3/4 Urban Hockey.

The Whitemoor players started the tournament extremely well, playing with skill and determination, consequently winning three of their four group games. Due to the fact that only five schools turned up on the day, it meant we qualified for the finals without having to play a single knock-out game.

Blue Bell Hill were therefore our opponent in the final, and it was clear from the outset they had been practising for many, many months. After a closely fought first third, BBH went on to take what seemed an unassailable lead…

By the end of the final third Whitemoor had closed the gap, but not by enough points to outscore our opponent. However, our players should be immensely proud of reaching the final, and for achieving the silver medal.

    The Y3/4 Urban Hockey team consisted of: Tyler C, Travae R, Kyan N, Natijah L, Farrah M, Inez W, Mariah-Lace A, Hugo K and Shalom-Chris O.

  • Competition Result – Wednesday 5th July – Y1/2 Key Step Gymnastics

    Wed 05 Jul 2017

Yesterday evening, the youngest of all our competitors (the Y1/2 Gymnastics team) took part in the Key Steps event, hosted at Ellis Guilford.

For nearly a whole term, Mr Jackson and the children have been working extremely hard to learn their routine, and these efforts clearly paid off…

Based on the points judges had awarded to our five highest scoring children, Whitemoor's total was enough for them to finish in a hugely impressive second place. Like last year, the team only missed out on a gold medal by less than a single point!

Whatever the result was, the teachers and parents in attendance were incredibly proud of the team's attitude and professionalism throughout the evening. Well done children for helping Whitemoor achieve their fourth gymnastics medal in only two years!

The Y1/2 Gymnastics team on the night was: Austin O, Sophie A, Jayden A, Jahmar C, Makeda M and Alawrae K.
