Competition Results - KS2 Dance Showcase
Wed 06 Feb 2019Earlier today, our Y6 Dance Troupe took part in School Sport Nottingham's annual dance event, which saw an incredible 15 group performances from state and private schools across the City.
This year's event was different to the 'Championships' which occurred the previous 3 years - with no points awarded and therefore no medals awarded. However, this 'Showcase' format allowed Whitemoor to enter a much bigger team when compared with previous years.
All the girls in our team had been training extremely hard under the guidance of Miss Proud: at break times, at lunch times and during after school clubs. This dedication and effort was evident in what was an amazing performance, dancing to 'The Greatest Show' from The Greatest Showman movie.
A massive congratulations to all the girls involved - you did us proud!
Our 'Dance Showcase' superstars were: Christine S, Zakiah R, May S, Magda G, Farrah M, Mariah-Lace A, Inez W, Michaela C, Aliny T, Alyssia B, Megan H, Tayah P and Italee P.

Tournament Result - Y3/4 Sportshall Athletics Heats
Wed 06 Feb 2019Earlier today, a group of Whitemoor's finest young athletes (from Years 3 and 4) travelled up to Ellis Guilford, ready to compete in the local heats of the Sportshall Athletics Championships.
With last year's team making it through both the heats and the semi-final stages, as well as the Y5/6 team repeating this feat back in December, expectation levels were rightly high.
After taking part in various sprinting, throwing and jumping events - some as a team and some as individuals - points were totalled to find out which schools had finished in the top three, and therefore the three who would progress to the next round.
Despite some impressive performances, from the likes of Makeda, our children did not achieve a large enough points total (as a team) to progress from the heats. A
Our attentions now turn to the Y4/5 Track and Field event in June, where we are confident we'll see an improved performance from Team Whitemoor.
Our Y3/4 Sportshall Athletics team consisted of: Alawrae K, Fizzah A, Jahmar C, James C, Kiyan A, Kurtis T, Lily E, Lucas S, Makeda M, Malak E, Meerab A, Natai B, Nida K, Aamina S, Freya C, Jagraj L, Jayden A, Josiah R, Kade A and Mohammed Subhan H.

Tournament Result - KS2 Boccia Championships Heats
Tue 05 Feb 2019Earlier this afternoon, ten pupils (from across the whole of Key Stage 2) took part in the annual Boccia Championships.
This was one of two qualifiers, with only the four highest scoring teams (from each of the heats) going through to the finals in a months time.
Both of Whitemoor's teams showed some great skill over the course of the afternoon, winning and losing a number of games in the process. Unfortunately, neither team scored enough points to qualify for the finals, so our Boccia journey ended a little earlier than last year.
However, we were incredibly proud of all the children involved - both for their excellent effort and great sportsmanship.
Our KS2 Boccia team consisted of: Kyle W, Nathan H, Ella-Rae W, Amin N, Manni S, Ife O, Riley D, Pavel K, Jordan N and Coleman W.
