Phonics

Mrs Renton and Mrs Dewsbury’s group

Today we are revisiting the Set 2 sound air. Look at how this special friend has 3 letters to make the sound. Learn the rhyme “air, air, that’s not fair” to help you and see if you can spot the sound when reading your green words.
https://schools.ruthmiskin.com/training/view/7j4ba40F/z8yLNmJL

After your reading, have a go at spelling the words using the sound air. Focus on forming your letters in the right direction and make them the same size. Sound out the word to spell using Fred Talk and your special friend air.
https://schools.ruthmiskin.com/training/view/YTKlc7sK/RI9wFUhM

Finally write the sentences. That’s not fair. On a chair.
See if you can use your capital letters to start the sentence, finger spaces in between your words and a full stop to end your sentence.

Maths

In Maths this week we are learning to Match 2D shapes. Here is a lesson on White Rose Maths. https://whiterosemaths.com/homelearning/early-years/to-20-beyond-week-3/

It is “To 20 and beyond- Week 3- Session 3- Match and Fill”

Ask a friend to create their own shape picture. Can you match and fill your shapes to recreate their picture? Add challenge by using just the shape outlines to create the shape picture, rather than the coloured shapes.
You can get creative and use a range of shapes to make a picture of a train, a boat, a person or an animal.

Topic/PE

This week our Topic is Mini-beasts. As we would be doing PE today we would like you to think about how different insects move around. Can you move like an insect?
Wiggle like a worm
Speed fast like a dragon fly
Flap slow like a butterfly
Slither like a snail

In PE we have also been learning how to control a ball or object using throwing, rolling and a bat. If you have any of these at home can you have a go at controlling a ball by using slow, fast, hard or light movements towards a target.

Keep up the fantastic work, you are doing great!
