  • Tournament Result - Y5/6 Sportshall Athletics Finals

    Tue 18 Dec 2018

After two gruelling qualifying rounds, which started way back in October, our Y5/6 Sportshall Athletics team travelled to Harvey Hadden today - ready to compete in the grand finals.

With this being the first time in many years that Whitemoor had reached the finals of the Y5/6 version of this event, it was fair to say that our athletes were a little nervous.

Thankfully, these nerves soon disappeared and our team went on to compete with unbelievable determination and effort throughout the afternoon's events. Without singling out certain boys or girls, it was in the sprint races where we truly excelled.

As the finals scores were calculated, Whitemoor discovered that Southwark, Old Basford and Milford (just) pipped us to the medals i.e. we finished in 4th place. However, this was still an amazing achievement, especially given some 32 schools entered at the heats stage. Well done again Team Whitemoor!

    Our Y5/6 Sportshall Athletics finalists consisted of: Natijah L, Kyan N, Shalom-Chris O, Travae R, Alessandro C, Sam W, Tyrai W, Tyler C, Cruz S, Arnav N, Mariah-Lace A, Jaylah C, Christine S, Aliny T, Vina R, Megan H, Inez W, Kuleni S and Ticianny M.

  • Football Result - Girls Under 11 Futsal Tournament

    Fri 07 Dec 2018

    1. Whitemoor Academy 2 – 0 West Park Academy

    Christine S

    Kuleni S

    2. Whitemoor Academy 2 – 0 Round Hill Primary

    Mariah-Lace A

    Christine S

    3. Whitemoor Academy 5 – 0 Beeston Fields Primary

    Own Goal

    Christine S

    Kuleni S

    Shruti A

    Mariah-Lace A

Meaning we qualified easily for the semi-final stage (winning all our games and conceding zero goals in the process). As a result of topping Group B, we were drawn against the runners up of Group A. This game finished as follows:

Whitemoor Academy 2 – 1 Richard Bonington Primary

    Christine S

    Kuleni S

Following this victory, there was a nervous wait before discovering who our opponents in the final would be… It turned out to be a school who are very familiar to us – Southwark. After an evenly matched game, the result was:

    Whitemoor Academy 0 – 0 Southwark Primary

Therefore, penalties were used to decided who the winner of the 2019 Girls' Futsal Tournament would be. Not only this, but it was sudden death format from the very first kick…

Mariah-Lace confidently scored the initial penalty of the shoot out. However, Southwark replied with a fantastic penalty of their own. After Kuleni put our second effort wide, Southwark scored again, so ended up winning the whole tournament.

A huge well done to all our girls! Claiming the silver medal (for the second year in a row) is a truly fantastic achievement.

  • Tournament Result - Y3/4 Handball

    Thu 06 Dec 2018

It's safe to say that, over the past few years, Whitemoor have enjoyed some great successes in the sport of Handball. With this in mind, our Y3/4 Handball team ventured over to Harvey Hadden earlier, hoping they would be able to secure yet more medals...

After the first round of games had finished, and some strange scoring had taken place, Whitemoor found out they'd not gained enough points to qualify for the winners bracket. This meant we missed out on the chance of winning any medals - instead playing against the other schools in our bracket in a 'friendly' format.

It must be said that Team Whitemoor reacted brilliantly to the disappointment of not making it as far as they hoped, as well as the disappointment of having a number of their first round wins scored as draws or loses.

Well done to all involved for the above and for their great efforts during the afternoon.

    Today's Y3/4 Handball team was made up of: Fizzah A, Natai B, James C, Lucas S, Malak E, Jahmar C, Kiyan A, Rayaan S, Lorita O, Jagraj L, Makeda M and Alawrae K.

    Shalom-Chris O

    5. Whitemoor Academy 1 – 2 Boys' High School

    Reuben K

Meaning we finished the tournament with an impressive total of 10 points. However, this left us in 3rd place - as the Boys High School finished on 12 points and Haydn 11 points. Our team should be very proud of their efforts though, especially as a draw in the final game would have meant we won the whole tournament!
