  • Tournament Result - Y5/6 Sportshall Athletics Heats

    Thu 17 Oct 2019

This afternoon, some of Whitemoor's oldest pupils competed in the heats of the annual Y5/6 Sportshall Athletics Championships.

This year we were unable to enter the Ellis Guilford family of schools qualifier, so travelled over to Harvey Hadden to face some unfamiliar schools in the first round. Our hope was, as ever, to finish within the top two placings - which would mean we make it through to the semi finals stage.

After a series of gruelling sprinting, jumping and throwing events; Whitemoor discovered that they'd finished with enough points to finish in second place. This was a particularly impressive result given that a number of our original team were missing due to illness.

Well done to all our athletes for their fantastic effort and brilliant attitude today - you did yourselves proud!

    Our Y5/6 Sportshall Athletics team was made up of: Sam W, Lucas S, Jordan N, Harley J, Zak P, Ryan B, Martell E, Riley D, Jahmar C, Shayaan M, Ticianny M, Minky D, Alawrae K, Makeda M, Sienna H, Alyssia N, Kuleni S, Glennisha B, Doha A and Katie A.

  • Tournament Result - Y5/6 Tag Rugby Festival

    Mon 14 Oct 2019

Earlier today, Whitemoor competed in a '2019 Rugby World Cup' inspired festival, organised by School Sport Nottingham.

Much like in Japan, the poor weather played its part, with the pitches at Moderns Rugby Club badly waterlogged thus being unusable. Thankfully, Nottingham Corsairs RFC came to the rescue, allowing an afternoon full of tag rugby to be played on their (slightly drier!) pitches.

Whitemoor were delighted the event did go ahead as they won all their matches, often by a convincing score line. Even more impressively, the team played with great teamwork, determination and sportsmanship throughout. Well done guys!

Our Y5/6 Tag Rugby team consisted of: Ticianny M, Minky D, Sam W, Lucas S, Zak P, Tyrai E, Harley J, Kuleni S and Alyssia N.

As has been the case the last four years, Whitemoor were made to pay for their slow start in the Karnival - with their victors (Southwark) going on to top the group and qualify for the semi-finals.

However, our players should be proud of their response to this initial loss: 3 wins, with 12 goals scored and 0 goals conceded. If they can replicate this kind of form in the Indoor 5-a-sides, held in November, then medal success will surely come their way!

    5. Whitemoor Academy 0 – 0 Nottingham Academy

    6. Whitemoor Academy 0 - 0 Brocklewood Primary

These impressive set of results meant Whitemoor qualified for the semis (recording 3 wins and 3 draws along the way - and thus 12 points in total). In this knockout match, we were pitted against the same school as last year. Unfortunately, the outcome was also the same as last year...

    Whitemoor Academy 0 - 1 Southwark Primary

However, Team Whitemoor should be very proud of their efforts this evening, and for finishing joint third out of the fifteen schools who took part.

  • Tournament Result - Y4/5 Dodgeball Festival

    Wed 02 Oct 2019

Earlier this afternoon, Whitemoor travelled over to Harvey Hadden Sports Village, ready to compete in one of two Y4/5 Dodgeball Festivals.

As was the case last year, no results were recorded (not formally anyway!) and therefore no medals were on offer for the schools taking part.

Despite the fact medal positions weren't at stake, Whitemoor's played with great intensity and determination. In fact, we didn't experience a single loss - beating every school that we came up against (thanks some excellent attacking and defending).

Well done to all the players involved in today's event - you competed superbly well and acted as brilliant sports men and women at all times!

Our Y4/5 Dodgeball team was made up of: Lucas S, James C, Mohammed Subhan H, Jahmar C, Makeda M, Jaxon C and Lily E.
