  • Tournament Result – Thursday 28th September – Y5/6 Quicksticks Hockey

    Thu 28 Sep 2017

The Year 5/6 Quicksticks Hockey tournament, held earlier this week, was Whitemoor's first inter-school sports event of the year.

From the outset, we knew the other teams involved were going to be tough to beat, with us coming up against a strong Southwalk side in our very first match. Thankfully we managed to beat them 1-0.

As the tournament went on, Whitemoor gained in confidence and improved rapidly – managing to qualify for the winners bracket play-offs. It was here when we faced seemingly the strongest team in Fernwood Juniors (who were full of skillful players).

Whitemoor battled hard to defend all their attacks, and manged to keep the score at 0-0, with some incredible flying saves from Jahkyi and Brian. Right up until the last minute of the game it remained scoreless, but Whitemoor managed to nick a goal after some quick passing. This meant we were into the finals, where we managed to beat a spirited Dunkirk side to take the gold medal!

The team showed true determination against some very tough sides, never giving up – even when losing.

    Our gold medal winning Y5/6 Hockey team were: Jahkyi C, Brian D, Mason T, Elhadi M, Jayden B, Nevaya P, Sahnairi P, J'Adore P and Kamara G.

  • Tournament Result – Wednesday 13th September – Y3/4 Girls Football Festival

    Wed 13 Sep 2017

On Wednesday 13th September, we took an excited team of Year 4 girls to the first sporting event of the year – the F.A. Girls' Football Festival, held at Lee Westwood Sports Centre.

Over the course of the morning, Whitemoor's girls took part in various fun activities like: refereeing masterclasses, speed shooting, freestyling and friendly games against other schools.

It was a fantastic event which helped bring out the confidence of all the girls in attendance. Well done to those who were involved – you did us proud with your fantastic enthusiasm and manners!

The Y3/4 Football Festival team consisted of: Sidrah R, Mia M, Kuleni S, Glennisha B, Mya I, Katie A and Ticianny M.
