  • Tournament Result – Wednesday 30th March – Y5/6 Basketball C.V.L. Heats

    Wed 30 Mar 2016

Earlier today, our Y5/6 Basketball team travelled up to the courts at Ellis Guilford – ready to compete in the second round of heats for the School Sport Nottingham Central Venue League.

Whitemoor played a number of closely fought games - some against teams from two weeks ago (bringing about very similar results) and some against new teams.

We won three matches: Crabtree Farm (18-0), St Mary's (16-10) and Glade Hill (16-6). Once again we missed out on a fourth win to Middleton, losing by one basket (2-4).

Impressively, the three wins (and those from a few weeks ago) meant we've qualified in first place for the grand finals on 27th April.

Well done to our Y5/6 Basketball team, who consisted of: Ajay S, Luke W, Oskar D, Grace A, Savita A, Glenn S, Solomon S, Tanaka N, Kamiya L, Jamie H and Tino C.

  • Tournament Result – Wednesday 30th March – Y3/4 Handball COUNTY FINALS

    Wed 30 Mar 2016

On Wednesday 30th March, we took part in Y3/4 Handball County Finals, held at Nottingham Trent University (Clifton Campus).

Over the course of the afternoon, Whitemoor competed against some very skilled teams (including Edwinstowe Primary and Morven Primary). Thankfully, all our children raised their game, playing amazingly well against such tough opposition.

As a result of our hard work and determination, we progressed from the group stage and made it all the way to the finals. This all important match pitted against our close neighbours, Ambleside Primary, and…

We are incredibly proud to announce that Whitemoor won the match (11-8), therefore bringing home the trophy as the best school for Handball in all eight districts of Nottinghamshire!

A massive well done to all the pupils who took part, they did a truly magnificent job. Also, thank you to England Handball and School Sport Nottingham for organising such an amazing event.

    The Y3/4 Handball team were: Kamara JG, Amelia B, Jessica S, Aaliyah B, Kayden L, Jacob H, Jayden R, Ramadan R, Brian D, Mason T, J'Adore P, Carnell T and Troy F.

  • Competition Result – Monday 21st March – Y5/6 Climbing

    Mon 21 Mar 2016

Last night, eleven of our oldest children got to take part in the Hollygirt Climbing competition, held at the Nottingham Climbing Centre.

As the event was sponsored by a private school, there were lots experienced climbers taking part, but Whitemoor more than held their own against some very tough opposition.

Points were awarded for how high each child climbed on three differing walls and how far they traversed on one wall.

Despite some nervy moments, all our children tried really hard – with Mia shining in particular and Tanaka completing the full section of the traversing challenge!

Our Climbing team consisted of the following Year 6s: Tanaka N, Ajay S, Jawaad S, Roj R, Harvey A, Chloe W, Charntay G, Mia G, Georgia N, Grace A and Zahra H.

  • Tournament Result – Wednesday 9th March – Y5/6 Basketball C.V.L. Heats

    Wed 09 Mar 2016

Yesterday evening, our Y5/6 Basketball team were back in action – this time as part of the Central Venue League (held at Ellis Guilford Secondary School).

The CVL event involved Whitemoor playing round robin games against all of the other schools in attendance (four in total).

Impressively, our team won their games against Crabtree Farm (20-0), St Mary's (14-2) and Glade Hill (16-4); and narrowly missed out on another win – losing by only one basket to Middleton (6-8).

This put Whitemoor in a great position for the final set of games, to be played on Wednesday 30th March.

Congratulations to this evening's Basketball team, who were: Ajay S, Luke W, Oskar D, Grace A, Savita A, Glenn S, Solomon S, Tanaka N, Kamiya L, Jamie H and Tino C.
