  • Tournament Result - KS2 Boccia Championships Finals

    Mon 16 Mar 2020

This afternoon our Boccia team were back at Harvey Hadden - this time to try and achieve a medal as part of the 'Championships' finals.

Due to some schools failing to attend, Whitemoor's team got to play lots of games of Boccia - against Nottingham Academy, Glade Hill A team and Glade Hill B team. At all times, our children played with real focus and determination - pulling off some excellent offensive and defensive shots along the way.

Come the end of the event, wins (as well as respective point scores) from our games were added together to determine who'd finished in the top three placings. After a nervy wait it was announced that...

Whitemoor had come in second place, so took home the silver medal. What an amazing achievement this was - especially as it was Whitemoor's first ever Boccia medal!

Our team for the finals of the KS2 Boccia Championships consisted of: Kyle W, Ife O, Daniel S, Chantae B, Jai B and Logan H.

  • Tournament Result - Y3/4 Sportshall Athletics Semi Finals

    Wed 11 Mar 2020

Following successful navigation of the heats, Whitemoor made their way over to Harvey Hadden this afternoon, to complete in the semi-finals of the Y3/4 Sportshall Athletics Tournament.

Once again, in order to qualify for the next round (the grand finals!) our children knew that they'd have to finish within the top three placings.

Over the course of the afternoon, our boys and girls competed admirably in a range of athletics events: standing long jump, vertical jump, standing triple jump, chest push, javelin and various races.

Their efforts were to be rewarded as it was announced that Whitemoor had scored enough points to finish third, and so had made it through to the final round of this event.

What made this achievement even more impressive was the fact it was the first time we'd reached the finals of the Y3/4 and Y5/6 Sportshall Athletics tournaments in the same year!

    Today's Sportshall Athletics team consisted of: Werner E, Archit N, Nerome T, Naquarn S, Ky'ran S, Malachi E, Eugine N, Elijah B, Kevin M, Hassan S, Ozair A, Mia T, Anaye C, Amelia B, Sophia B, Abi-Lea B, Sukainah F, Shiloh B, Danise N, Karampreet R, Ava J and Krisha B.

  • Tournament Result - Y2 Infant Agility Festival

    Tue 10 Mar 2020

This afternoon, Miss Proud's Y2 class took part in the annual Infant Agility Festival, held at Lee Westwood Sports Centre.

The festival was organised and run by Sports Coaching Degree Students from Nottingham Trent University, with the aim being to provide pupils with an introduction to multi-skills games in a competitive environment.

The format of the Infant Agility Festival included pupils taking part in relay and obstacle races, similar to the Sportshall Athletics format, along with lots of mini sports games.

Whitemoor's team of thirty or so pupils split into smaller groups throughout the course of the afternoon and rotated around the activities in a circuit style; with the emphasis being on 'giving it a go' and having fun!

It was fair to say that all of the Y2 children involved had a fantastic afternoon, in what was their very first experience of inter-school sport.

    The Y2s involved with today's Infant Agility Festival were: Alaina A, Amina A, Abir A, Laiba A, Ellicia B, Jayden B, Brax B, Mason B, Kye C, Lily-Rose C, Ria F, Halima F, Evie G, Kirtan G, Hollie-Rose H, Lacey-Mae H, Iqra H, Abubakr H, Ayub K, Aron N, Ayo N, Yashika P, Maleik P, Haris R, Maria S, Miiah T, Haveesha V, Niyler-Shae W and Kenny W.

  • Competition Result - Y3/4 Key Step Gymnastics

    Wed 04 Mar 2020

Earlier this afternoon, we were back at Inspire Gymnastics Academy, this time for the Y3/4 version of Key Step competition.

With our Y5/6 gymnasts having achieved a first place finish (back in December), Mr Jackson was confident that this team could do equally as well.

After many months of training (as part of after school club provision), our gymnasts performed confidently and competently in front of the judges present. The clearly knew their routines off by heart, which helped them record some impressive scores.

In fact, it turns out the totals from our five highest scoring pupils were enough for the team to finish in second place. What an absolutely brilliant achievement from Whitemoor (once again!).

Our medal winning Y3/4 Gymnastics team was made up of: Abi-Lea B, Mia T, Ava J, Shilo B, Elijah B, Cianna K and Amelia B.

  • Tournament Result - Y4/5 Handball Festival

    Tue 03 Mar 2020

Earlier today, a selection of our Y5 pupils travelled over to Harvey Hadden to compete in the third of this year's Handball events.

As was the case with the Y3/4 Handball Tournament, held back in December, a festival format was in place - therefore scores weren't recorded and medals weren't at stake.

The above fact didn't mean Whitemoor approached their games with any less effort or determination though! Both the boys and girls sub-teams played some very skilful and competitive games of handball - recording lots of wins along the way.

Well done to all the pupils involved in today's tournament.

    Our team for the Y4/5 Handball Festival consisted of: Makeda M, Alawrae K, Fizzah K, Kurtis T, Kiyan A, Jaxon C, Jagraj L, James C, Dhanraj N, Lortia O, Remae F, Freya-Mae C and Jayden A.
