  • Competition Result – Wednesday 24th May – Y3/4 Key Step Gymnastics

    Wed 24 May 2017

Last night, six children (from Lower Key Stage Two) traveled up to Ellis Guilford to compete in the 'Key Step' gymnastics event.

All the girls who took part did so with smiles on their faces and put maximum effort into their tricky routines.

When the scores were added together, Whitemoor found out they'd finished in third place – which earned the children an amazing bronze medal. What's more, we only missed out on silver medal by 0.1 of a point!

The girls did incredibly well throughout the competition and should be very proud of their achievements. Well done Team Whitemoor!

    Our Y3/4 Gymnasts were: Mya I, Italee P, Zakiah R, Kuleni S, Jaylah C and Inez W.

  • Tournament Result – Monday 22nd May – Y4 Mega Festival

    Mon 22 May 2017

On the morning of Monday 22nd May, seven children from Year 4 attended the 'Mega Festival' at Harvey Hadden Leisure Centre.

This new addition to the School Sport Nottingham calendar is aimed at getting children active, as well as providing opportunity for them to take part in a breadth of sporting activities – all done in a fun and inclusive way.

The pupils who attended  the event had a wonderful time and loved playing sports such as Dodgeball and Curling, among many others. Well done to all the children for their fantastic attitude and manners.

Our Y4 Mega Fest Team consisted of: Aliny T, Keltoum K, Shaish Q, Abu F, Marques S, Kacper S and Leigha S.

  • Tournament Result – Thursday 18th May – Y5/6 High Five Netball COUNTY FINALS

    Thu 18 May 2017

After winning the City Finals back in April, our 'High 5' team traveled over to Emmanuel Secondary School for the County Finals.

Just to get this far was a truly fantastic achievement, especially given the fact we had reached the same stage in 2014-15 and 2015-16.

Due to a change in date of the Year 6 residential, over half of our gold medal winning term were unavailable for this tournament. However, the newly formed team played amazingly and worked really well as a unit.

Over the course of the evening, we played three (very tough!) matches – losing two and drawing one. Unfortunately, this was not enough to see us through to the knock-out round. All who came to coach and support were super proud of the children's efforts, both at this event and when winning the two tournaments that came before this one.

Our Y5/6 County Netball Team was as follows: Harvinder D (Captain), Castel B, Aiden L, Ciara H, Aqsa A, Kamara J & Millie E.

  • Tournament Result – Thursday 18th May – Y3/4 Mini-Tennis Red

    Thu 18 May 2017

Yesterday, eight lucky children got the opportunity to play in the Y3/4 Tennis tournament, which took place at the Nottingham Tennis Centre.

Each team consisted of two boys and two girls; with individual results being combined to equal an overall win, draw or loss against each school they faced.

The children played fantastically well over the course of their seven matches. However, when the final points for the A and B teams were calculated, Whitemoor discovered both had finished in fourth place – so narrowly missed out on a place in the finals.

Well done to all our players, especially the two who got called up only hours before – and good luck to Fernwood, Our Lady OPS and Blue Bell Hill in the finals.

Today's Y3/4 Tennis Team were made up of: Inez W, Italee P, Jaylah C, Vina R, Travae R, Finnley G, Mustafa K and Hugo K.

  • Tournament Result – Wednesday 17th May – Y4/5 Dodgeball

    Wed 17 May 2017

Due to this afternoon's awful weather, the scheduled Tag Rugby tournament was postponed. Instead a Dodgeball tournament took place (in the shelter of the Lee Westwood Sports Centre!).

Whitemoor's Y4/5 team took the last minute change of sport in their stride and played with fantastic teamwork and intensity.

As a result of their efforts, our team went through the group stages without losing a single game - topping their table convincingly. They continued the winning streak all the way to the final match, where they beat Fernwood Juniors. This meant they won the whole tournament, taking home yet another gold medal for Whitemoor!

Well done to all the players involved, especially for adapting so well to the last minute changes.

The Y4/5 Dodgeball (aka Tag Rugby) Team were: Jacob H, Carnell T, Elhadi M, Ramadan R, Brian D, Aiden L, Nevaya P, Sahnairi P and Kamara J.

  • Tournament Result – Monday 15th May – Y5/6 Handball COUNTY FINALS

    Mon 15 May 2017

Earlier today, the Y5/6 Handball Team traveled to the Lee Westwood Sports Centre to take part in the follow on from the Nottingham City tournament – the County Finals!

Our players soon discovered that our competition would be much tougher this time around, with all teams in attendance having a chance of winning the tournament. However Whitemoor dug deep, showing fantastic skill and determination throughout the near five hour event.

We won every game in the group stages (beating teams from Ashfield, Bassetlaw, Mansfield, Broxtowe, Rushcliffe, Gedling and Newark in the process), and thus qualified for the winners bracket.

By the end of these games, Whitemoor came away with the bronze medal, which is a superb achievement at county level. A huge congratulations to our players for finishing third out of sixteen district teams (over 400 children!).

    Our County Y5/6 Handball Team were: Daniel P, Castel B, Mason N, Harvinder D, Amarion A, Megan M, Millie G, Ciara H, Shania B and Natasha C.

  • Football Result – Sunday 14th May – Boys Under 11 Friendly Game

    Sun 14 May 2017

As part of Nottingham Schools' F.A. 125th year celebrations, our Under 11s team were invited to play on the pitch at Meadow Lane (during half time of a charity match).

The ten minute match was a very close fought affair, but unluckily for us the result was as follows:

    Team:
    Thomas W
    Aiden L

    Castel B

    Wed 03 May 2017

    Whitemoor Academy 1 – 1 Cantrell Primary

    Brian D

After a hard fought twenty minutes of football (and a Whitemoor equalizer three minutes from time!) the match ended in a draw. Due to the cup final format, no extra time or penalties took place and therefore Cantrell and Whitemoor were crowned joint 6-a-side champions.

Mr Bevington and Mr Jackson were so proud of all the players' efforts – bringing home the cup for the first time in five years!
