When the results for our group were totaled, Whitemoor's players realised they'd been made to pay for their slow start... They finished in second place so failed to qualify for the knockout round. However, there were lots of positives to take away from the tournament, including the great encouragement our team offered to the group winners – Southwark Primary.

Unfortunately, the two early losses contributed to us finishing in third place (behind Melbury and Berridge) and so we failed to qualify for the semi-final stage.

Competition Result – Thursday 5th October – Y5/6 Cross Country Relay
Thu 05 Oct 2017Yesterday afternoon, our Y5/6 Cross Country team ventured over to Colwick Country Park to take part in boys and girls relay races.
The weather conditions made it a perfect day for a run, which consisted of completing several laps of Colwick Lake. It's fair to say, this competition is one of the most gruelling on the primary sporting calendar, as it requires each athlete to run over 1300m.
Although we did not place in the medal positions this time around (finishing in sixth place overall), the team showed true resilience and determination to complete such a physically demanding event. Well done to all those who took part!
The Y5/6 Cross Country team was made up of: Travae R, Brian D, Mason T, Maleeq F, Nevaya P, Sahnairi P, Sophie H and Kamara J.

Tournament Result – Monday 2nd October – Y6 Mega Festival
Mon 02 Oct 2017Earlier today, Whitemoor attended the first of four 'Mega Festivals' which will be held over the year, this one being targeted at boys and girls in Year 6.
The aim of these events are to: a) engage children in physical activity and b) provide opportunity for all children to take part in competitive sports. Our children certainly achieved both these targets, competing in a range of sports for well over two and a half hours.
We hope today's event inspired the seven children involved to continue to engage with PE and sport – both this year and when they go on to secondary school. The smiles on their faces at the end of the day told us they will do!
Our Y6 Mega Festival team consisted of: Charlie D, Kyreece S, Shamai P, Kolima F, Mara A, Areeba Z and Troy F.
