  • Tournament Result – Thursday 15th October – Y5/6 Tag Rugby COUNTY FINALS

    Thu 15 Oct 2015

This afternoon we travelled to Mellish RUFC – the host venue for the Y5/6 Tag Rugby County Finals.

These finals saw some very proficient teams compete against one another, with our children watching some very skilful rugby players in action (both as competitors and spectators!).

Whitemoor's team played brilliantly against such quality opposition, showing fantastic perseverance throughout the course of the afternoon. This lead to a number of impressive wins, as well as experiencing the odd defeat.

Although we didn't manage to reach the finals of this event (finishing in 5th place), our team showed great ability in their attempts to match the best of the best.

Well done to all involved with Y5/6 Tag Rugby team: Oskar D, Vlad A, Luke W, Mikyle T, Declan M, Georgia N, Savita A, Lynden J and Kamiya L.

  • Tournament Result – Wednesday 14th October – Y5/6 High 5 Netball C.V.L. Finals

    Wed 14 Oct 2015

What a fantastic end to the Netball Central Venue League we have had....

After narrowly losing the first 'High 5' match of the finals, we fought hard as a team to win all remaining matches. Lots of great plays and incredible shots meant that we finished in GOLD medal position!

We are all extremely proud of the team and know this is only the start of something really special. Bring on the 'High 5' tournament in Spring!

The Y5/6 team taking part in tonight's matches, and those in the qualifying rounds, were: Daanyaal Z, Ajay S, Kamiya L, Savita A, Jamie H, Solomon S, Mia G, Danyal A and Shantay F.

  • Tournament Result – Tuesday 6th October – Y5/6 Sportshall Athletics Heats

    Tue 06 Oct 2015

On Tuesday morning, our Y5/6 Athletics team took part in their 'local' heats. The event was organised by School Sports Nottingham and was officiated by a team of young sports leaders from Ellis Guilford.

The team really enjoyed their morning at Ellis, running 6 different races – including both individual and relay. We also took part in field events, such as the standing long jump and a foam javelin throw.

In the final standings, Whitemoor finished in 3rd position (with 168 points). Unfortunately, only the first and second placed teams went through to the semi-final stage. Congratulations to those two schools: Heathfield and Dunkirk.

Looking forward, we must not be too disappointed as we only missed out on the qualifying places by 2 points! Lots of hard work in preparation for the outdoor Athletics tournament in summer is what we will focus on now.

    Well done to those who competed: Luke W, Vlad A, Oskar D, Troy B, Alfie G, Daniel P, Lynden J, Mason N, Ajay S, Declan M, Castell B, Harvinder D, Savita A, Beth K, Mya H, Georgia N, Roche M, Millie E, Natasha C, Peyten C, Gloria L and Laila H.

  • Tournament Result – Tuesday 6th October – Y5/6 Tag Rugby

    Tue 06 Oct 2015

Yesterday, Whitemoor took to the fields of Moderns RUFC to compete in the annual City Schools' Tag Rugby tournament.

This year's event was based around the Rugby World Cup, with Whitemoor representing the nation of Canada. The children looked fantastic in their red and white face paint - playing exceptionally well and managing to win enough games to finish in silver medal position.

Not only did we come second – we also qualified for the County Finals in a few weeks!

Massive congratulations to our Y5/6 Ruby Team, who were: Oskar D, Vlad A, Luke W, Mikyle T, Declan M, Georgia N, Savita A, Mason N, Lynden J and Kamiya L.

  • Competition Result – Thursday 1st October – Y5/6 Cross Country Relay

    Thu 01 Oct 2015

Earlier today, Whitemoor competed in their first ever Cross Country event, held at Colwick Park. The mile-long relay race saw 40 teams taking part, coming from schools right across the City.

Each of our girls and boys formed a team of four and had to run around the lake before passing the relay baton to their team mate. The girls completed the course with a time of 0.28.30 and the boys with a time of 0.23.12 (which was bronze medal winning time!).

The event was a great opportunity for some of our Year 5 and 6 Athletes to experience a long-distance race in a competitive but fun surrounding. There was a great atmosphere as our runners were cheered across the finish line by teachers past and present (Miss Dicken!).

Congratulations to those who represented Whitemoor: Oskar D, Luke W, Vlad A, Lynden J, Beth K, Gloria L, Mya H and Georgia N.
