These results meant we made it safely through to the semi-final round. However, as we only finished second in our group, we were drawn against the winners from the other group - who were a very formidable opponent! This game ended as so:

    Whitemoor Academy 0 – 2 Southwark Primary

A third/fourth play-off followed this and, after what was a tightly contested game, the result was:

    Whitemoor Academy 1 – 2 Nottingham Academy

    Kuleni S

Although the girls didn't manage to reach the finals this year, they should still be very proud of their efforts throughout the tournament. They really did Whitemoor proud!

  • Tournament Result - Y5 This Girl Can Festival

    Thu 30 Jan 2020

Today's 'This Girl Can' Festival, held at Harvey Hadden, gave opportunity for a selection of Y5 girls to take part in exciting sporting activities against other Nottingham City schools.

Just like the Y6 version of this event (held in November), the emphasis focused on enjoyment, as well as providing greater numbers of girls with experience of inter-school sports competitions.

All those selected had a great time and loved representing Whitemoor in a range of different sports, including things such as dodgeball and handball.

Although medals aren't awarded at these festivals, all those who took part still showed great determination and teamwork. Well done girls!

Our Y5 'This Girl Can' team consisted of: Aleena S, Wanya M, Amna K, Fizzah K,  Shenelle R and Hannah K.

  • Tournament Result - Y4 Mega Festival

    Thu 23 Jan 2020

This afternoon, some lucky Y4 pupils got to take part in what was the second 'Mega Festival' of 2019/20. As usual, this event was hosted at Harvey Hadden.

For lots of the children representing Whitemoor today, this was only the second time they'd taken part in an inter-school sports competition (with the Y2 Infant Agility Festival being the other time).

As is always the case with these events, many new and different sports were played - with the emphasis being placed on effort and enjoyment.

It was clear to see that Team Whitemoor achieved both of the above, whilst also displaying great sportsmanship. Well done to all the boys and girls involved!

Our Y4 Mega Fest team consisted of: Ola H, Aman S, Issabella L, Ateeb A, Teejai G and Abigirl A.

  • Tournament Result - Y5/6 Dodgeball Festival

    Tue 21 Jan 2020

This afternoon, a number of our oldest pupils got to take part in the Y5/6 Dodgeball Festival, held at Harvey Hadden Sports Village in Bilborough.

Dodgeball is one of our pupils favourite games, so the boys and girls involved in today's event were super excited to get to play this sport against schools from across Nottingham City.

With a festival format being adopted, whereby no scores were recorded, the emphasis was very much on our pupils competing for enjoyment as opposed to success.

Saying this, our team managed to achieve many, many wins thanks to the superb efforts they all put in. Great work everyone!

    The team for today's Y5/6 Dodgeball Festival consisted of: Haris K, Subhan H, Shayaan M, Sidrah R, Andrei S, Areeb A, Sachina S, Shay A, Zaynab S, Mani S and Hamza A.

  • Tournament Result - Y5/6 Handball Heats

    Thu 16 Jan 2020

Earlier today, our Y5/6 Handball team travelled over to Harvey Hadden Sports Village, ready to compete in one of two heats as part of this year's event.

The inclusion of heats was a change in format, which brought added added pressure for our pupils to play well from the very first game... Or risk not making it within top three!

Pleasingly, Team Whitemoor rose to this challenge, showing fantastic handball skills and teamwork against some very physical opponents. This included a close fought win against our local rivals, Southwark Primary.

By the end of the tournament, Whitemoor had won every game, so finished in first place and secured a place in the grand finals. A huge well done to all those who took part.

    The Y5/6 Handball team for the heats was: Alyssia N, Katie A, Samya F, Kuleni S, Minky D, Sienna H, Zenai C, Ticianny M, Lewis C, Ruben K, Tyrai E, Jahmar C, Sam W, Lucas S and Harley J.

  • Competition Result - Y5/6 Cross Country Championship

    Wed 15 Jan 2020

The impressive setting of Wollaton Park was once again host for the annual Y5/6 Cross Country Championships, which took place earlier this afternoon.

Due to the fact that Whitemoor were unable to attend the Cross Country Relay event in September, this was many of our pupils first experience of long distance running.

Thankfully, the fifteen individuals who took part in today's competition did not let this phase them - with all our boys and girls giving it their all and running incredibly well.

Although Whitemoor missed out on the medal placings, Kuleni managed to finish within the top 12 female runners. A simply amazing achievement! As a result of this, she’ll be taking part in next month's County Finals, held at Berry Hill Park in Mansfield. Well done Kuleni - we wish you the very best of luck!

Our Y5/6 Cross Country team was made up of: Alawrae K, Alyssia N, Kuleni S, Makeda M, Sienna H, Zenai C, Minky D, Ticianny M, Jayden A, Kurtis T, Jahmar C, Sam W, Kiyan A, Jordan N and Tyrai E.
