  • Competition Result – Tuesday 13th February – Y5/6 Dance Championships

    Tue 13 Feb 2018

Last night, a selection of our Y5/6 Dance Troupe traveled up to Ellis Guilford to take part in what was our third School Sport Nottingham 'Championships'.

As the main hall at Ellis started to fill up, we learnt that we would be up against tough opposition in the form of: Old Basford, Southwark, Scotholme, Sycamore, Burford, Middleton, Forest Fields and William Booth. Added to this, Whitemoor had to wait until the very end to dance, and so their nerves of pupils and staff built and built….

However, thanks to lots and lots of rehearsals with Miss Raquel and Miss Turner - our boys and girls performed their routine with great skill, synchronicity and timing. We simply couldn't have asked for a better effort!

Once we'd finished, the medal positions were revealed, with Whitemoor discovering that they'd scored enough points to finish in second place! What a brilliant achievement, especially given the fact this was the third year running our Dance Troupe have meddled at this event.

Our superstar Dance Troupe was made up of: Cole S, Jahyki C, Shamai P, Nevaya P, Shanairi P, Sophie H, J'Adore P and Mara A.

  • Tournament Result – Wednesday 7th February – Y3/4 Sportshall Athletics Heats

    Wed 07 Feb 2018

On Wednesday afternoon, Whitemoor traveled to the unfamiliar setting of Trinity Secondary School to compete in the first round of the Y3/4 Sportshall Athletics tournament.

From a total of 4 heats, there would be 12 schools who qualify for the semi-finals, held on either the 7th or 8th March.

Today's tournament saw teams of up to 30 children taking part in a range of athletic tests. Each of the athletes involved got to compete in at least one track and one field event.

Whitemoor's team displayed excellent effort and skill throughout the course of the afternoon and ended up qualifying for the semi-finals, doing so in first place!

    Today's Sportshall Athletics team consisted of: Sam W, Reuben K, Martell E, Keenan D, Abdullah T, Harley J, Shayaan M, Tyrai W, Zak P, Blake R, Lewis C, Kai W, Ticianny M, Mya I, Katie A, Minky D, Doha A, Glennisha B, Kuleni S, Shay A, Sidrah R, Alyssia N and Hamnah S.

  • Football Result – Friday 2nd February – Boys Under 11 Futsal Tournament

    Fri 02 Feb 2018

    1. Whitemoor Academy 0 – 3 Parkdale Primary

    2. Whitemoor Academy 4 – 0 Beeston Fields Primary

    Tyrai W

    3. Whitemoor Academy 0 – 1 Middleton Primary

    4. Whitemoor Academy 1 – 1 Richard Bonington Primary

    Brian D

Despite some impressive performances, including Tyrai on his debut, we clearly missed a few of our experienced Y6 players – who were unavailable due to being on a trip. Saying that, if we hadn't conceded a simple goal to Richard Bonnington in our final game, then we could have gone through to the 3rd/4th play offs (which we reached last year).

Unfortunately we did concede, and so our points tally saw us compete in the 7th/8th play off against Netherfield. In this game an experimental side played out the following score:

    Whitemoor Academy 0 – 3 Netherfield Primary

Whist the tournament acted as a good experience for our players, their attentions now turn to securing the NSFA Under 11 league title (come April time).

  • Football Result – Thursday 1st February – Girls Under 11 Futsal Tournament

    Thu 01 Feb 2018

On Thursday, our Y5/6 Girls Football team took part in the first ever female version of the University of Nottingham's Futsal tournament (held at the David Ross Sports Centre).

Whitemoor showed great team work and passing skills right from the off, and so managed to win every one of their games in the group stages. In fact, they made it all the way to the final!

Unfortunately, at the last hurdle, they lost 3-2 against Roundhill Primary. However, our girls should be very proud - both for playing fantastically well and for showing huge improvements since September.

The only disappointment was that someone lost the score sheet - so we have no record of how many goals were scored (and who scored them!).
