  • Tournament Result – Wednesday 22nd March – Y5/6 High Five Netball Heats

    Wed 22 Mar 2017

Yesterday, we traveled to the (indoor) netball courts of Harvey Hadden, thus avoiding cancellation of the tournament due to rain soaked (outdoor) courts at The Emmanuel Secondary School.

We played four games over the course of the afternoon; with Whitemoor's players showing some fantastic positivity, teamwork and skill.

As a result of this, we won every single game we played! The scores on the day were: 12-0, 7-2, 14-0 and 11-1.

Thanks to these impressive results Whitemoor will go through to another finals (held in April) We couldn't have been more proud of our 'High 5ers'

Our Y5/6 Netball team consisted of: Mason T, Castel B, Harvinder D, Megan M, Shania B, Natasha C and Ciara H.

  • Tournament Result – Monday 20th March – Y5/6 Pop Lacrosse

    Mon 20 Mar 2017

The afternoon of Monday 20th saw Whitemoor take to the pitches of Highfields – to compete in the Y5/6 Lacrosse tournament for the very first time!

Lacrosse has been a new addition to Whitemoor's after school programme for 2016-17, and the skill development of pupils who've attended this club has been amazing. This showed in fantastic performances against the likes of Fernwood, Southwark and Blue Bell Hill.

After a slow start to the competition (losing to Blue Bell Hill and Fernwood A teams) we went on to record victories against Blue Bell Hill B team, Southwark and Fernwood B team. This took us through to the first versus second play-offs, with Fernwood A coming out on top again.

However, we must celebrate coming away with the silver medal in a different sport. It's also worth mentioning that the matches were played under awful weather conditions, but not one of our players complained about this. A massive well done to the children on both accounts!

The Year 5/6 Lacrosse team consisted of: Megan M, Brian D, Natasha C, Amirah A, Castel B, Mason N, Alfie G and Troy B.

  • Tournament Result – Wednesday 1st March – Y5/6 Basketball C.V.L. Heats

    Wed 01 Mar 2017

Yesterday evening, we returned to the basketball courts at Ellis Guilford, ready to compete in our final set of Central Venue League heats. Only the top few teams would qualify for the finals night, so the pressure was on…

This didn't seem to bother Whitemoor's players though as they won each and every game this time around, and looked much improved from the team who competed in the first round. Their work rate was very impressive and commitment in defense meant other teams found it hard to score.

Following a bye against Portland, we went on to beat Southwark 18-8 and Brocklewood 20-4. These results meant Whitemoor finished top of the league table and have made it through to the finals on Wednesday 29th April. Congratulations are definitely due!

This time around our Y5/6 Basketball team were made up of: Megan M, Mille G, Amirah A, Shania B, Mason N, Tino C, Harvinder D, Romario L, Castel B and Daniel P.
