Competition Result – Thursday 30th November – Y3/4 Key Step Gymnastics
Thu 30 Nov 2017After many months of learning their routines, yesterday our Y3/4 Gymnastics team traveled up to Ellis Guilford to take part in the annual Key Step event.
This year's Gymnastics competitions may have taken on a different format (happening in school time as opposed to after school), yet the result for Whitemoor was very much the same old story – another medal!
By the end of the morning, the best five scores from each team of six were added together to reveal who had finished in first, second and third places…
A massive congratulations to team Whitemoor as we came away with the highest points score and thus the gold medal! We are so proud of the efforts of these children – they really embodied the idea that practice make permanent!
The Y3/4 Gymnastics team consisted of: Kuleni S, Glennisha B, Mya I, Destiny T, Katie A and Mia M.

Tournament Result – Monday 27th November – Y5/6 Sportshall Athletics Semi Finals
Mon 27 Nov 2017As reward for finishing second in our Sportshall Athletics heats (back in early November), we were invited to compete in the next round of qualifiers, held at Harvey Hadden.
Unfortunately, the date of the semi-finals we were invited to happened to be the same date that all our Year 6s were on a trip… However, in true Whitemoor spirit, we still decided to take part – picking extra children from Year 5 and even some Year 4s!
Over the course of the afternoon, our newly formed team tried extremely hard and did not let the fact they were facing predominately Year 6 children worry them in the slightest. Some of our team even won their events!
After the six track and six field events have been completed, boys' and girls' scores were combined to give each school a grand total. Despite Whitemoor finishing with nearly 300 points, we only managed to finish in fifth position and so did not make it to the grand finals. All our Year 5 children (and our two Year 4 children) should be very proud of their efforts though!
Today's much changed Sportshall Athletics team were: Hugo K, Kyan N, Rajan S, Natijah L, Dominic A, Shalom-Chris O, Travae R, Tyler C, Peter S, Tyrai W, Finnley G, Dijourn M, Christine S, Shruti A, Zakiah R, Glennisha B, Jaylah C, Mariah-Lace A, Inez W, Tayah P, Ruby-Lea M, Farrah M, Aliny T and Italee P.

Tournament Result – Monday 13th November – Y6 This Girl Can Festival
Mon 13 Nov 2017On Monday, Whitemoor took part in the Year 6 'This Girl Can' Festival, which was held at Harvey Hadden Sports Village.
The festivals emphasis was on fun and enjoyment, and for our girls to just 'have a go' regardless of their shape, size or ability.
The event started off with everyone taking part in a mass warm-up – followed by a rotation around different sports and activities, including: Dodgeball, Urban Hockey, New Age Kurling and Relay Races.
It was a fantastic afternoon, giving some of Whitemoor's oldest children a great opportunity to get involved in a fun sports event, which would hopefully inspire them to be more active in the future.
It is worth mentioning that all the girls who attended the festival showed great teamwork and enthusiasm. Well done guys!
Our Y6 'This Girl Can' team consisted of: Kolima F, Jessica R, Inayah K, Shamia P, Ansu B and Aaliyah B.
