  • Competition Result – Tuesday 26th June – Y6 Go For Gold Fun Run

    Tue 26 Jun 2018

The Go For Gold Fun Run, now in its second year, is a mass participation event which aims to inspire primary aged children to enjoy the joy of running.

All our Year 6 cohort were invited to the event at Harven Hadden Sports Village, whereby they had to travel round a 1000m track. Pupils who completed one lap received a bronze band; 2 laps earned them a silver band; and, if they completed all 3 laps, received a special gold band.

Every single one of Whitemoor's team completed at least 3 laps - with some even doing as many as 7 laps! It was an incredible effort from all our participants, including some of our wonderful staff. We cant wait until next year's event!

Our Go For Gold Fun Run team consisted of: Class 13, Class 14 and their teachers/teaching assistants.

  • Competition Result – Thursday 21st June – Y4 This Girl Can Festival

    Thu 21 Jun 2018

Yesterday afternoon, a group of very excited Year 4 girls got chance to take part in the last of the series of 'This Girl Can' festivals.

Like with the other festivals, the emphasis of today's event was on fun and enjoyment, and for the girls to just 'have a go' regardless of their shape, size or ability.

Whitemoor's girls started the afternoon by taking part in a mass warm-up, followed by a rotation around different sports and activities, including: Handball, Urban Hockey, New Age Kurling and Relay Races.

A huge well done to all those involved, who represented themselves and Whitemoor superbly well over the course of the afternoon.

Our Y4 'This Girl Can' team consisted of the following children: Zoya A, Zaynab S, Raghed H, Sachina S, Sienna H and Sadaf H.

  • Tournament Result – Wednesday 20th June – Y3/4 Urban Hockey

    Wed 20 Jun 2018

Yesterday afternoon, Whitemoor took part in the first ever SHINE Multi Academy Trust sports event - a Y3/4 Urban Hockey tournament.

With Urban Hockey no longer featuring on the School Sport Nottingham competition calendar, this tournament gave our children chance to experience yet another new and exciting sport.

The tournament saw Whitemoor's A and B teams play against our SHINE neighbours Scotholme; as well as Old Basford, Dunkirk and Richard Bonnington.

After 15 games of high-paced hockey, Whitemoor discovered that their A team had recorded enough points to finish in 3rd place. Well done to all involved - and congratulations to Old Basford for winning the inaugural SHINE Urban Hockey tournament.

    Our Y3/4 warriors from today were: Tyrai W, Reuben K, Keenan D, Sam W, Abdullah T, Harley J, Ticianny M, Katie A, Kuleni S (A team) and Martell E, Mia M, Zak P, Ryan B, Alyssia N, Zenai C, Lewis C, McKenzie P (B team).

  • Tournament Result – Monday 18th June – Y5 Kwick Cricket

    Mon 18 Jun 2018

On what was a bright, sunny Monday morning; our Y4/5 Cricket team took to the fields of West Bridgford to compete against various schools in the second of four 'Kwik Cricket' tournaments.

Some of the cricket skills exhibited by the players taking part in today's event were brilliant to watch - with Team Whitemoor playing their part thanks to some incredible batting and fielding.

After an exhausting morning of sport, Whitemoor found out that they'd recorded enough points to make it into the finals, where they came up against the very able Boys High School team.

Unfortunately, Whitemoor couldn't quite muster up enough runs to win and so victory belonged to the Boys High School. However, our players should be incredibly proud for finishing in silver medal position.

The Y5 Kwik Cricket team was made up of: Dijourn M, Tyler C, Mattie C, Mustafa K, Anas I, Max K, Arnav N, Sufyan Z and Alessandro C.

  • Tournament Result – Thursday 14th June – Y4/5 Quad Athletics Heats

    Thu 14 Jun 2018

Earlier today, some of Whitemoor's finest sportsmen and women (in Year 4 and 5) made their way to Harvey Hadden - ready to complete in one of the most well attended Quad Athletics heats in recent times.

In all, there were 15 different teams taking part, representing some 13 schools from across Nottingham. Over the course of the afternoon, each of the 150 athletes present got to take part in sprinting, running, throwing and jumping events

Despite some impressive performances in the boys and girls relays, Whitemoor didn't finish with enough points to qualify for the grand finals. However, both teams should be proud of the efforts they put in - even if it didn't lead to the desired result.

    Our Quad Athletics team was made up of: Alessandro C, Shalom-Chris O, Sam W, Kyan N, Travae R, Mariah-Lace A, Inez W, Christine S, Vina R and Jaylah C.

  • Tournament Result – Wednesday 6th June – Y3/4 Mini-Tennis Red Finals

    Wed 06 Jun 2018

Earlier today, both of our Y3/4 Tennis teams returned to the courts of Nottingham Tennis Centre - ready to compete in the grand finals.

Here we faced the 9 best teams from the 30 or so who'd entered either of the heats. They were: Our Lady OPS, Fernwood Juniors, St Mary's Hyson Green, Southwark (A&B), Claremont, Scotholme and, of course, Whitemoor (A&B).

On the one set of courts our A Team played against Fernwood, Scotholme, Southwark B and Claremont; whilst our B team played against Our Lady OPS, Southwark A and St Mary's on the other courts. In both groups, it was only the top two teams who'd go through to the medal playoffs.

By the end of the first round, where high-quality games of tennis were played by all, we discovered that Whitemoor A had made it to these playoffs! After facing Fernwood (again!), as well as Southwark A  and St Mary's, we scored enough points to finish in 2nd place. As it turns out, we were only one point away from winning gold.

A huge well done to all our players! This was the first time ever that Whitemoor had two teams in the finals, and the first time in five years that we managed to finish in a medal position.

    Whitemoor's Y3/4 Tennis superstars were: Reuben K, Abdullah T, Areeb A, Subham H, Shay A, Alyssia N, Bhakti G and Kuleni S.

  • Football Result – Monday 4th June – Nottingham Forest Under 11 7-a-side Festival

    Mon 04 Jun 2018

    1. Whitemoor Academy 0 – 3 Our Lady OSE Primary

    2. Whitemoor Academy 1 – 0 Southwark Primary

    3. Whitemoor Academy 1 – 0 Our Lady OSE Primary (rematch)

    Shalom-Chris O

    4. Whitemoor Academy 0 – 0 Southwark Primary (rematch)

After a disappointing first game, Whitemoor recovered marvelously – recording 7 points from their final three games and securing a place in the semi-finals. Here the result was as follows:

    Whitemoor Academy 0 – 4 St Peter's Juniors

Being the only school in the tournament without any subs clearly took it's toll by the latter rounds – resulting in a tired loss to the eventual winners. However, our players should be immensely proud of their efforts, especially those who carried injuries before or during the tournament.
