Meaning we qualified for the semi-finals (finishing top of our group). The result was as follows:
Whitemoor Academy 0 – 1 Glapton Primary
Unfortunately, this meant we missed out on a place in the finals. However, we should be really proud as there were 23 other teams (and over 130 pupils) involved in the football festival… and we finished third!

Tournament Result – Wednesday 27th April – Y5/6 Basketball C.V.L. Finals
Wed 27 Apr 2016On Wednesday night, our Y5/6 Basketball team headed up to Ellis Guilford once again – this time, however, they were competing in the Central Venue League Finals.
The competition we faced in the finals was much tougher than in the heats, with the intensity of play ramped up several levels.
Thankfully, we topped our group following hard fought victories against Glade Hill and Sycamore. In the final we squared off against the winners of the other group - Heathfield Primary.
This was by far the most testing of all the games, with Heathfield having won silver in the Basketball tournament back in December. Their players showed great skill and team work, but Whitemoor upped their game and out fought the opposition in every single department. Although we went into half time with the score at (a somewhat disappointing) 0-0, the second period was ours as we scored three baskets, and went on to win 6 – 2.
We are so proud of the team for how hard they worked to win the Central Venue League - and earn gold for Whitemoor.
Also, a big thank you to all the parents, guardians and staff who came to show their support over the three nights the league was held.
The Y5/6 Basketball team was as follows: Glenn S, Savita A, Grace A, Tino C, Jamie H, Oskar D, Solomon S, Ajay S, Tanaka N, Kamiya L and Luke W.
