Tournament Result - Y5/6 Quicksticks Hockey

Earlier today, our Y5/6 Hockey team made their way over to the pitches at Highfields - ready to compete in the first School Sport Nottingham event of the year.

The 2018 version of the Quicksticks tournament was as popular as ever, with close to 25 teams involved in the afternoon's proceedings. Our team selection reflected this popularity, with both an A team and a B team representing Whitemoor.

Both these teams played with grit and determination - displaying some excellent passing, shooting and defending along the way.

By the time the final group games came to a close, our players discovered the A team had made it through to the semi-final stage. Here we faced a familiar opponent - Southwark Primary. After a goalless match (including a period of extra time), sudden death penalties were used to decide who would advance to the finals...

In a reverse of events from the '15 Quicksticks Final, Whitemoor missed their first penalty and Southwark scored theirs. Consequently, we had to settle for a play-off match for 3rd/4th position - which ended in a disappointing loss to Rosslyn Park.

Our Y5/6 Hockey team consisted of: Vina R, Mariah-Lace A, Christine S, Travae R, Alessandro C, Finnley G, Shalom-Chris O, Natijah L, Aliny T, Inez W, Ruby-Lea M, Tyler C, Kyan N and Cruz S.
