Tournament Result – Wednesday 18th April – Y5/6 Handball COUNTY FINALS
On Wednesday, some of our oldest children got chance to play competitive sport for a whole day - all thanks to them being part of the Y5/6 Handball County Finals.
Following on from their gold medal winning exploits in the School Sport Nottingham version of this tournament, Whitemoor (along with Southwark and Sycamore) were invited to represent the City at this higher level.
Our team soon came to discover that the competition was much, much tougher this time around - so would need to up their efforts if they wanted to get their hands on another medal. Thankfully, all our players raised their game, showing fantastic determination throughout the course of this 6 hour event.
After some highly impressive performances in the first group stage (against teams from Ashfield, Bassetlaw, Mansfield, Broxtowe, Rushcliffe, Gedling and Newark), we managed to qualify for the winners bracket.
By the end of this second round of games, Team Whitemoor finished with enough points to claim the bronze medal. This is a truly brilliant achievement at county level. A huge well done to all our players!
Our Y5/6 Handball County Finalists were: Kamara J, Nevaya P, Sahnairi P, Shruti A, Mariah-Lace A, Amelia B, Mason T, Brian D, Aiden L, Elhadi M, Natijah L and Jahkyi C.
