Whitemoor Academy were nominated for their first county sports award last night, as the 'Most Physically Active School' in Nottinghamshire 2012.  This was a huge achievement, following on from a highly successful year of PE and school sports at the school. 

 

The night was a star studded affair, with many Olympic and Paralympic medal winning athletes present, along with representatives from all the city and county's professional teams. Our joy at being nominated was dampened slightly by narrowly missing out on winning the award. 

 

Nevertheless, we can be both proud and honoured to have been nominated. It's thanks to the efforts of staff and parents, but most of all the wonderful sporting Whitemoor children, that we got this far.
