In the History Curriculum at Whitemoor Academy, we aim to provide a rich curriculum that allows children to embed knowledge and understanding of key events in history. They will be able to develop the enquiry skills to compare and contrast past and present events with each other using a range of primary and secondary resources.  The children will then be able to know the affect and changes past events have on current times. They will be able to provide explanations and reasoning for their conclusions they have made based on the evidence and inference skills they have learnt. In the classroom, the children will become more investigative and comparative as they move through the curriculum.

They will begin to analyse key events and talk about the effects that past events have had on our modern day and gain knowledge and develop an understanding about events and important people and how they have shaped modern Britain.
