Tournament Result – Wednesday 6th June – Y3/4 Mini-Tennis Red Finals

Earlier today, both of our Y3/4 Tennis Teams returned to the courts of Nottingham Tennis Centre – ready to compete in the grand finals.

Here we faced the 9 best teams from the 30 or so who had entered either of the heats. They were: Our Lady OPS, Fernwood Juniors, St Mary's Hyson Green, Southwark (A&B), Claremont, Scotholme and, of course, Whitemoor (A&B).

On the one set of courts our A Team played against Fernwood, Scotholme, Southwark B and Claremont; whilst our B team played against Our Lady OPS, Southwark A and St Mary's Hyson Green on the other courts. In both groups, it would only be the top two teams to go through to the medal play-offs.

By the end of the first round, where high-quality games of tennis were played by all, we discovered that Whitemoor A had made it through to these play-offs!

After playing against Fernwood (again!), as well as Southwark A  and St Mary's Hyson Green, our A Team scored enough points to finish in 2nd place. As it turns out, they were only one point away from winning the gold medals.

A huge well done to all our players – this was the first time ever that Whitemoor had two teams in the finals, and the first time in five years that any team managed to finish in a medal position.

Whitemoor's Y3/4 Tennis superstars were: Reuben K, Abdullah T, Areeb A, Subham H, Shay A, Alyssia N, Bhakti G and Kuleni S.
